There be a variety of approaches to psychology. These approaches, also known as a posture, involve certain assumptions about the behaviour of humans. This includes the way in which a human being functions, which aspects of humans are quotable of study and what research methods are appropriate. There are contrastive theories within each perspective. These however, share common assumptions.
behaviourist Perspective
nonpareil perspective is the Behaviourist Perspective. This perspective is different to the others. This is because it is an approach that views commonwealth as controlled by the environment, but specifically, how the person has learned from the environment.
This perspective is based on how environmental factors, also known as stimuli, can affect any observable behaviour, or the response. The Behaviourist Approach proposes two main processes:
Classical Conditioning This involves teaching by association. A Russian physiologist called Ivan Pavlov once studied as part of a Classical Conditioning experiment.
Ivan basically started plangency a bell whenever he was about to feed somewhat dogs. Whilst doing this, he measured the saliva the dogs produced. Eventually, he rang the bell, but did non give food to the dogs, but still measured the issue forth of saliva they produced. The dogs produced the same amount of saliva. This was because they had learned that this was when food was typeset for them.
Operant Conditioning  This involves learning from the consequences of behaviour. An example of this type of instruct is when a person touches an extremely hot disapprove.
