1.b. Political Ideology. In this lecture we will be briefly introducing the clash of ideologies which provides much of the backdrop to public policy debates. This is the merely time we will be vistaing separately at ideologies and we are doing it directly so that you will be mindful of the key terms when they occur in the course. We will non be endorsing any ideology, merely will be taking each one seriously and seeking to position business, state, and orderliness in each ideological framework. We are going to look at a number of ideologies in this lecture, with a revolve about on three neo-liberal, Marxist, and social democratic. In the latter part of the lecture we will be looking at the battle between two specialized ideologies which has shaped the last fifty years. The Keynesians (social democratic) and the neo-liberals are at fight over the issues of financial regulation, tax, and free markets.
